Why do some people eat more than others?

Have you ever heard any of these suggestions? They go off in my head every meal:

“Eat all that’s on your plate!”

“You’ll sit here until every bit of that food is gone!”

“You should be ashamed of yourself! Don’t you know their are children that go bed hungry, and you don’t appreciate all the food you get.” 

“Eat all of what I cooked for you so I’ll know you love me.” 

“You were so good today you can have extra dessert, have some ice-cream, it’s your favorite food!”

“Good job! Have a cookie!”

Shame and coercion

Some kids are forced to eat all of what was on their plate, and punished for NOT finishing the food. The belief that wasting food is a sin, created a belief that you need to eat all of it.  Some kids got food as a reward, and others got it mixed up with a display of love.

Those who eat in restaurants or have food delivered, receive a plate of food, and they feel OBLIGATED to eat it all.  After all I paid for it, why not eat it, even if I’m not hungry anymore. Then it becomes a habit of overeating.

Look around! Notice, who is in good physical shape and notice what and how they eat.

Is it really hunger?

Do you eat to get a certain sensation – what is it, this sensation?

How does your brain get a feeling of satisfaction?

When is enough?


In rare cases, a person’s weight gain is not caused by overeating. Instead, there is a physiological cause other than caloric intake. It can be caused by an abnormal retention of water, low thyroid function, or the use of a drug that disturbs the body chemistry. If this is the case for you, you will recognize symptoms such as puffiness (as a result of water retention) or general lack of energy (as a result of low thyroid function). Your reason for being overweight is best determined by a medical examination.

Hypnotherapy assists you to discover and access your creative, unlimited potential, thereby allowing for the release of negative or limiting habits and associated ideas. We all experience doubts or setbacks. Resolving problems related to self-esteem, confidence or motivation is one of the most important and valuable capabilities of hypnotherapy.

Weight gain has to do with when you eat, how many times a day, at what time of day, how you eat and how much of it you eat at once.

TEN THINGS You Can Do Right Now

TEN Secret things useful to do for YOUR Weight Loss without diet or aggravation of a yo-yo!

You can LOSE at least pound a week (forever!)

1 Drink lots of water, NOT SODA, with lemon (NOT SUGAR).

Why? Water increases your metabolism. Fresh lemon juice has enzymes that cleanse, and creates an alkaline condition in your body. Your cells release fat when they are in an alkaline state and bind fat when they are acidic. To bind is human, to release is divine.

2 Take calcium

Studies in rats on a diet show that the ones with adequate calcium lost 30% more weight.

3 Eliminate !

Yes, we are talking poop. All that protein and no fruit makes us backed up. Drink dieting tea every night before bed, to start for the first two weeks, if no restrictions from your doctor, and follow the instruction on the box!(Allow at least 3 hours after your last meal before drinking it and before going to sleep. You will be VERY light and feel toned up in the morning. Hum and sing if you want.

4 Take Omega 3 oils.

Eat fish often. Tuna, salmon, bass are excellent sources of protein and omega 3s. If you can’t find the fish, take fish oil.

5 Active Lifestyle

Do something to boost your metabolism. When you exercise your body releases endorphins, which are natural body good mood chemicals, so here you get a double benefit, get thin and get happy! A brisk walk, jump up and down, run in circles, make love. Your body will burn fat, not food. DO NOT EAT RIGHT AFTER you exercise. Wait for 30 minutes, drink water. You will continue to burn fat rather than food.

6 EAT RAW vegetables and fruit

Eat them raw. Carrots, celery, broccoli, etc. Veggies are alkalinizing. And when you alkalinize, what happens? That’s right, your fat falls off.
Raw veggies have enzymes that digest food better, give you energy, slowly digest and make you feel full.
And of course, make you eliminate much better. And we all love that, don’t we?


If you have no time to exercise, next time you are standing in front of the refrigerator looking for ice cream (which is acidic by the way) pretend you are sitting in a chair without having a chair under you. Stay in this position for 2 minutes. After you are done you will no longer want food. Now would be a great time for a glass of water.
Do the chair pose when you answer you e-mails, dry your hair, or watch TV. You are building some great muscle, and you know what else? The fat burns off your body, especially your thighs.

8 Drink Herbal Tea

Herbal tea increases your metabolism, is a powerful antioxidant, and for some reason makes you burn fat.
Iced perhaps, in the heat? It will make you sweat more and burn more fat!

9 Stop the Sabotage

Find the positive intention, the reasoning WHY behind your issues with food. If your inner mind has a powerful need to eat to fill an emotional need, or have protection, no amount of will power can help. Clear the issue with your hypnotherapist and make it easy.

10 Visualize

Yourself being thin and exactly like you want to be, visualize the weight you will be when you step on the scale each day. Here is how you can do it. Easy.  Imagine the scale showing your weight now, and then sliding down showing one, two or three pounds less. Make a mental note of what day it is, perhaps Sunday, or even tomorrow.
Next time – tomorrow you imagine the same scale, but new number, one, two or three pounds less and less. Fat is leaving your body, so just allow it to leave. Do the chair pose, and drink water, eliminate.

Visualizing is easier to do when you are just waking up, or about to fall asleep. Also very helpful to take a minute to visualize yourself thin right before sitting down to dinner. Remember your goal – lose weight – at any time. You will be amazed with the results – Want it to happen and it will happen.

As a result of this visualization your body will start to make changes: you will automatically eat less, more healthier foods and move around a lot more. Therefore, you will become less depressed, less concerned with your weight, you will become more confident and more independent.

Hypnosis is the Way to Lose Weight

How many of us tried to lose 20-30 lbs of excess weight? And how many of you succeeded? For how long?

In The Psychology of Persuasion you discovered the Law of Consistency. Generally speaking this law states that people will behave in a way that they believe is consistent with their past statements about an issue, and, their past behaviors about an issue. This is backed up by numerous studies in social psychology.

Even more interesting is that research shows (Tykocinski & Pittman, 1998) that once people pass up on an “opportunity” once, they will almost certainly pass up on that same opportunity in the future. So, in the case of the lottery ticket holder, their behavior sets a precedent. Once someone passes up an opportunity, no matter how positive, they tend to decide that way in the future as well.

In general, people will avoid doing something that could be in their best interest simply because they have done so in the past.

Hypnosis may be one of the final solutions to weight loss. Strategies to control stress may just be the best tools to reduce weight for the long term. Stress appears to be a major cause of weight gain and reducing stress levels seems to have a cause/effect relationship on people’s weight.

UCSF researchers have identified a biochemical feedback system in rats that could explain why some people crave comfort foods – such as chocolate chip cookies and greasy cheeseburgers – when they are chronically stressed, and why such people are apt to gain weight in the abdomen.

“If, after the near-miss on the freeway, you get into work and almost lose your job during an argument with your boss, and have a fight at home that night – and these types of events are relentless — you’re going to have chronically elevated adrenal hormones [ie., chronic stress],” he says. There has to be a brake on the system, and, for some, it’s chocolate.

Importantly, there are other ways to treat chronic stress: exercise, yoga, meditation, sex and baths all stimulate neurochemicals that activate regions of the brain that stimulate pleasure. Relaxation techniques may work by reducing the psychological drives on stress output, which can be the root causes of stress. (Drugs and alcohol do not provide sufficient metabolic feedback, and may even stimulate further stress, and its attendant compulsions for pleasure.)

As for the use of food, there are serious health consequences of a diet high in fat and sugars — abdominal obesity (which can lead to cardiovascular disease, Type II diabetes and stroke), and cardiovascular disease itself.

“In the short term, if you’re chronically stressed it might be worth eating and sleeping a little more to calm down, perhaps at the expense of gaining a few pounds,” says Pecoraro. “But seeking a long-term solution in comfort foods – rather than fixing the source of the stress or your relationship to the source of the stress — is going to be bad for you.”

Even if you’ve never been able to lose weight before you are more than likely to now. You already know that weight loss is an elusive goal. Now find out what you can do to lose 20 pounds and three inches in approximately 9 weeks.

Goals, will power, a fad diet and a positive mental attitude are not enough to take inches off.
