No Servant Can Serve Two Masters

“No servant can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money.”

Sorry to get all biblical with you……read on to get my point.

I just finished the first two days of The Weekend Hypnotism Certification Course. The participants experienced, and then actually created a deep, enjoyably relaxing experience for each other, before we even broke for lunch the first day.  The really cool part was that they were able to do it in less than two minutes without so much as saying a single word to their subject. That’s right, no script to read, no paper to juggle.

They were surprised and excited to discover that hypnosis is not rocket science, and it’s not magic.  It seems magical because it is such a powerful tool to create wonderful experiences for whoever participates, and the positive effects are so health and happiness affirming. This is just the tip of the iceberg for them.  In the coming weeks they will learn to become competent professionals who can add real value to the well-being of all the people they come in contact with, as they build their abilities help themselves and  to help others create extraordinary futures.

On another note, I stumbled across a new TV show called Mob Doctor. I’m not much for TV but each season I take a taste of a couple of new shows and cue them up to watch at my convenience. I saw the ad on the NYC Subway platforms, and the sinister nature of the premise tantalized my dark side.  The show is a treatment of “ER Meets The Sopranos,” and follows the life of an attractive young female surgical resident at a South Chicago hospital. In the first episode, she pulls a screwdriver out of the head of a wiseguy, sans anesthesia, standing inside a filthy garage and then dashes back to the sterile hospital Operating Room environment.

Mob Doctor You cannot serve two masters

Conflict of Interest
In an attempt to save her gambling addicted brother from the mob, she has agreed to perform all manner of unseemly medical interventions for wiseguys and their ilk, often using front-line MASH Unit techniques, and is on-call to the mob boss 24/7.  Things get really interesting when our duplicitous surgical queen is called upon to kill a protected government informant, due to testify against the mob boss, during a cardiac bypass surgery.  Can you say…..”conflict of interest?”

And so it has gone through the three episodes that have been shown so far. The “heroine” surgeon, Mob Doctor, has to walk a tightrope back and forth between hospital, and mob boss, getting in deeper and deeper with each episode…..committing felonies…….as she fights to maintain some personal integrity.

So like real life.

  • Every day 290 people are killed by FDA-approved prescription drugs, and that’s the conservative number published by the Journal of the American Medical Association.
  • Prescription drug deaths have risen considerably since there was a study twelve years ago which documents 106,000 deaths per year from the “adverse effects” of FDA-approved prescription medications.
  • GlaxoSmithKline — had a bribery network of 49,000 doctors who received financial kickbacks to prescribe more Glaxo pharmaceuticals to patients.
  • According to the report Death by Medicine, by Drs. Gary Null, Carolyn Dean, Martin Feldman, Debora Rasio and Dorothy Smith, the medical establishment kills 783,936 people in the United States every year
  • 2009 Census reports  total health care expenditure in the US was 2,486.3 billion dollars.  I’m not even sure how to say that any other way.

And there is much more.

I believe that most doctors believe they are doing “the right thing” based on the information they were given, and continue to be given by their “handlers,”

BigPharma, the BioMedical industries, Health Insurance providers and large hospital conglomerates, who are now slavering and drooling at the idea of the profits they will reap with the implementation of new healthcare initiatives.  These entities support medical schools, students, and continue to bribe the pushers of their products, read “physicians”  with all sorts of lucrative perks and bribes, to make sure their products get into the bodies of patients worldwide as competitors and alternative resources are crushed.

First Do No Harm
Rather than upholding an oath they have sworn, “first do no harm”, physicians are all but trapped inside a closed system of toxic interventions, all designed to generate thousands of billions of dollars of profit for corporations who masquerade as serving the public good, as they create health mayhem. First Do no Harm

Now, physicians have become totally complicit to the entire “sick care” system, turning a blind eye to lies, and incongruencies of the system they live off, when they could open their eyes to emerging data about alternative answers to global health.

Like our young resident, Mob Doctor is learning……things can get very uncomfortable when you try to serve two masters.

It seems to me that every sector of the business world has been taken over by total criminals who will do just about anything, including lie, cheat, steal and kill people in order to make as much money as possible. It’s as if a whole gang of Micheal Corleones from the Godfather series were finally able to “get out”, and into the legitimate business world, but unfortunately they brought they’re lack of any ethics and unbridled lust for money with them.

Considering all the stories in the news detailing more and more incidents of corruption throughout the system and the relatively light penalties, if any, that are levied on the few that get caught, why was everyone so surprised to find out about all the cheating that goes on in college entrance exams, even by students who are high achievers?

What’s ironic about the woman in the Mob Doctor program is that she’s committing these horribly unethical crimes for the same reason given by Corleone. They’re both doing it to help their families.

When all these cheating high school kids finally join the business world, what are the odds that they’ll try justifying even more unethical behavior in the quest for bigger sums of money, by saying they’re doing it to help their families?

      Thank you for your comment.
Let me begin by saying that IMO, one of the things that separates humans from the other animals roaming the planet, is that we have the ability to organize ourselves around the conscious possibility of a future. Although I don’t claim to be an animal behavior expert, I have explored the work of a few animal behaviorists, and it’s been proven that squirrels don’t consciously store food for the winter.
What is interesting is that the actions humans now have available to them, have the ability to wreak havoc of giant proportion, all the way to wiping life to a great part off of the planet, and drastically altering the planet in ways that can have significant long-term consequences.
Our brains, it seems, unless specifically trained, have an easier time dealing with immediate “in your face” response patterns, like running away, fighting, finding an expedient solution, without consideration through longer time periods.
Easy, immediate short term benefits, with little concern for long term consequences IMO is the behavior of an immature mind, and yet we see this behavior in our leaders. I needn’t go much further than our current global financial crisis to find proof; unless one is of the belief that the downward economic spiral was conceived long ago, and is now being played out by a cabal of nefarious power mongers.
What you speak to in your comment is the former. Very short term, “ME first” activity, that has zero concern for long term consequences by any measure you can apply.
I offer individuals an opportunity to literally transform their neurological hardware, so they can have a future that works, that is creative and sustainable. Through the work I do, individuals experience a transformation in their behavior that speaks to a reorganization of their internal position toward satisfaction.
